Microsoft XP: zp-after clean a installl, there is no net work connection

I did a windows xp home addition clean instalation, and now i cant get an
network connection, i use a cable broadband modem, after reinstaliation i go
to controll panel-network connections and when i open network conn. there is
nothing in there, not even a installiation wizard, over to the left side of
screen have option to set up new connection i did that and theres still
nothing in there, i tryed to do XP clean install 4 times with no success,
the cable modem is an external and it has connectivity,

can someone help me out with this issue??

Install the motherboard chipset and other hardware drivers, from either the
cd's supplied with your system, the OEM site if the likes of Dell/HP or a
Laptop, or the hardware manufacurers sites if a generic sys
